“The answer is never the answer. What’s really interesting is the mystery. Seek the mystery instead of the answer… plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer.”
-Ken Kesey
Life can be wild, meaningful, messy, and deeply human. Life can bring moments that stretch us - and remind us just how much we’re capable of. Counseling provides a space to explore these experiences at your pace, with care and connection. Some sessions may be tender or challenging; others may bring insights, relief, or the kind of laughter that comes from feeling seen and understood. I offer a collaborative therapeutic relationship that honors your identities and experiences, supporting the growth and understanding you want for yourself.
My approach...
I approach counseling with empathy, curiosity, and compassion, using a relational and integrative style shaped by how you experience life and relationships. My work is rooted in parts-work (sometimes referred to as Internal Family Systems), with particular attention to trauma and complex trauma. I focus on deepening emotional awareness and supporting greater trust and connection within yourself. I also draw from somatic and polyvagal-informed approaches, attachment theory, narrative and meaning-making practices, mindfulness and skills-based tools, and psychoeducation to support regulation, healing, and meaningful change.
I bring a trauma-informed, multicultural, and socially conscious perspective to counseling, attending to how power, privilege, and oppression shape our lives. As a White, non-binary, queer, sex-positive, polyam- and kink-affirming counselor, I am particularly interested in exploring how authentic identities and inner parts show up in the counseling space, and in fostering a therapeutic environment that respects your experiences and perspectives.
Professional training & credentials: I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University, a CACREP-accredited program, and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Psychology from the University of Portland. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a certified facilitator for Our Whole Lives: Lifespan Sexuality Education, which supports informed, values-based decisions about sexual health and behavior. I regularly pursue professional development in trauma, sexuality, polyamory, and evidence-based modalities to bring thoughtful, informed care into the therapeutic space.
